Explore America's Oldest Historic District

THE BEST WAY TO SEE THE CITY

History Tours

Our Private Walking and Driving Historic Tours will take you through the streets of the nation’s first Historic District. Charleston’s incredible preservation efforts have left beautiful buildings looking like they did when we were one of the largest cities in the colonies. Antebellum mansions with cobblestone streets decorate the neighborhoods of the peninsula. Elaborate ironwork and elegant gardens will captivate you as our guides lead you through the White Point Gardens and the historic mansions south of Broad Street. Learn about the Old City Market and why Rainbow Row was painted that way.

Hear stories about the Old Exchange Building and Provost Dungeon, where pirates and war criminals were once held. Or your party could decide to take an afternoon tour of one of the historic plantations. These extravagant properties still hold many of the original structures, and you could spend all day leisurely walking the garden grounds.

* Contact us if you have questions regarding the areas of town that will be included in your tour. While we can’t guarantee that your tour will stop at every exciting location in town, we can guarantee a truly unique experience for your party.
